The annual “Santa in the Park” event is one many Port Chester residents look forward to, as the town is filled with holiday cheer and small Children have the chance to experience the magic of the Holidays! The event takes off with a Christmas parade where the High school Marching Band, the elementary school students, the police and fire department all participate and lead the parade down to Lyon park. Santa and Mrs. Clause also participate in the parade as they ride with the firefighters and wave to the crowd.
Once at Lyon park, Santa and Mr. Claus take the stage as the High School Marching Band performs Christmas tunes in order to officially start the event. The Children then are able to choose a toy from the many Santa brought and then get on stage to take a picture with him! The park itself is decorated with inflatable reindeer, penguins and even Santa’s mailbox where the children can drop off their letter to him. On top of that there are various food trucks scattered around the park! This event is a great way to kick off the holidays and bring joy to Port Chester!
