After a satisfactory 2023 season, the Rams are back on the field practicing five to six times a week in preparation for their 2024 season. Last season, the Rams went 9-11, starting off with a strong 8-1 record which allowed them to make the playoffs.

To prepare for the season, the Rams received new gear and acquired a new hitting coach. Furthermore, they’re spending more time in the weight room focusing on power, speed, strength, and explosiveness with the team’s fitness coach.

The Rams have five coaches, four of which are at every practice. Each coach specializes in a different aspect of the game. At practice, the Rams are split into groups based on their positions in which they focus on building their skills for their position for a large portion of the practice. They also work on other fundamentals such as receiving, reaction, and conditioning.

“Our practices are long and concise. They focus on what they need to focus on. There’s no messing around at practice, we give everything we got for the amount of time we’re there,” said player William Villanova when asked what practices are like.

Coach Sean Burke, the head coach of the team, believes that this year’s group is talented and nothing less than extraordinary. The team’s pitching line up, for instance, has some of the best players in New York State such as senior Joshua Virella, ranked #11th first baseman in NYS class of ‘24, junior Jordany German, ranked #24 pitcher in NYS class of ‘25, and sophomore Bryan Sachs who still awaits his NYS ranking for the class of ‘26.

The Rams start their season on March 25th in an away game against La Salle Academy. Other anticipated games in their season include games against strong teams such as John Jay, White Plains, and Fox Lane.
