Annual IB Dinner

By: Brian Alvarado

On Tuesday, October 10th, members of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme met together at Colony Grill for a moment of companionship. This event is a tradition for the seniors and new for the juniors who joined the program earlier this year.

As a recognition of the hard work and the long process the program is known for, the teachers and coordinators of the program plan this event and participate in it as well. Students in the program are able to enjoy fellowship with other students that are enrolled in the same rigorous classes and are taking on the same academic challenges. Events such as these bring unity and comfort to IB students and remind them that they aren’t alone in their path to completing the program and receiving an IB diploma.

The juniors and seniors were able to grow friendships with each other, meeting new people and creating new memories, this being an important aspect of the program. Advisors acknowledge the importance of the companionship students have with one another, understanding that students may need help from other students in the program at some point. Creating these relationships could go a long way in supporting each student and their individual needs to be successful in the program.

This is the second annual meetup the IB team has had at Colony Grill, and it most likely will continue to be a tradition for years to come, thanks to the positive impact it’s had on the entire IB team. Sharing pizzas and words encourages students to be involved in the program and to be excited for other IB events in the future.
